PJAM invites dedicated CI dancers to an autumnal gathering in the green grounds of Ponderosa. With optimal time for dancing, we host a space that invites your questions, inspires investigation and cultivates community exchange.
We will be an intimate group of 30 dancers coming together to nourish our bodies, inspire our dances and in times of radical change; explore new and vital forms of practice.
This Year PJAM offers a longer format, from 9-15th October with the first 3 days for labbing followed by 4 days for jamming! You may join for part 1 or 2 or both!
Part 1 Labbing is a peer driven Contact Improvisation practice which embraces experimentation, collaboration, discussion, and creative research formats. We invite your questions, topics and research proposals, if you know already what you would like to explore please include this in your application. With the proposals gathered we expect to form 2-3 groups around the larger themes of Performance, Technique, Touch & Sensations and we will have an afternoon/evening dedicated to performance outcomes and other forms of sharing on the final day.
Part 2 Jamming we will gather to practice Contact Improvisation, with opening circles, group dancing, time & resources for personal and group reflection and harvesting. There will live music, silent jams and jams with a shared focus. Afternoons will offer further opportunities for Labbing.
The price includes delicious vegan/vegetarian food, lush studios, dormitory or double room accomodation, sauna, green pastures for walks and a nearby river-for swimmers: Full €500-540, Part 1/2 only €300-340, (double rooms cost €340/€540)
